For this stop motion Trolli commercial we made the terrified protagonist, poor little Croig.
Working from 2D designs we created the puppet that was a silicone and plasticine hybrid, to give the desired claymation style. The head featured a malleable face with a selection of replacement components such as eyes, pupils, brows, mouths and beads of sweat. We assisted in resculpting the expressions during the animation process to achieve big changes like the exaggerated horrified face at the end.The body had a simple wire armature with silicone arms and feet. The fabric costume was tailor made by Rachel Brown. An upscaled pair of Croig arms were made by Stephanie Howell for the close up product show.
We also made the mysterious monster seen in the commercial. This was made from plasticine in two scales for close ups and wider shots.
